Man Facing Charges After Train Crash

A Socorro man is lucky to be alive tonight after trying to race a train and crashing. It happened just after 11p.m. Thursday on the 200 block of Horizon Boulevard.

Socorro Police say 31-year-old Andres Acosta was hit when he drove past a pair of railroad crossing arms as they were coming down. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police tell us speed and alcohol are factors in the crash. Authorities say Acosta will be charged with DWI.
