Texas Officer in ICU After Being Shot in Head

SNYDER, TEXAS- A West Texas officer remains in critical condition at this hour after being shot in the head by a suspect.

Investigators say Corporal Darrell Campbell was shot just after midnight. He and another officer responded to reports of shots fired in this neighborhood in Snyder, Texas.

Police say Officer Campbell was shot as the two lawmen talked to a man.

The suspect was fatally shot.

The injured officer was rushed to a Lubbock hospital for immediate treatment.

While Campbell is out of surgery, he remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
