EL PASO – With Christmas and Hannukah behind us and New Year’s Eve approaching, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) would like to remind El Pasoans to celebrate responsibly. In light of several recent alcohol-related crashes in the City of El Paso, the public should be aware that there are several DWI initiatives being conducted by law enforcement officers from state, county, and local agencies.

TABC would also like to stress to business owners that responsible service is the key to public safety, specifically preventing the over-service of alcohol and sales to minors. Many bars and nightclubs have partnered up with taxi companies to provide revelers a free ride home. So if you are out enjoying the New Year’s Eve’s festivities, don’t hesitate to let a member of the bar or nightclub staff know if you need that safe ride to your home.

“The local TABC Office will be monitoring several city events on New Year’s Eve, and will be helping to ensure a safe environment as El Pasoans ring in the New Year,” said TABC Sergeant Anthony Canonizado.
