Youth basketball tourney takes 16th run in El Paso

As El Pasoans come together all over town to watch the NCAA tournament unfold, local organizers of the 16th Annual Battle of the Border Basketball Tournament continue their tradition with bringing together their youth basketball tournament hosted in El Paso, Texas. This year the tournament boasts over 160 teams, ranging from peewee to high school seniors. The tournament has continued to grow and help sell-out hotels in the city. Teams from all over Texas, New Mexico Arizona and Mexico are bringing their best teams to compete. Teams from Mexico include Durango, Zacatecas, Torreon, Chihuahua, Cuachtemoc, Delicias and even our sister city, Juarez.

The tournament runs today, March 22-24, at 10 various gyms throughout the city. The tournament hours are as follows:

Friday, March 22, 2013 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Saturday, March 23, 2013 8:30 am to 7:00 pm
Sunday, March 24, 2013 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Gyms include Bel Air High School, Hillcrest Middle School, Harmony School of Science, Riverside High Schoo, Riverside Middle School, Patriots Dream Arena, Del Valle High School, Ysleta High School, Elite Force Gym and Memorial Gym on the University of
Texas at El Paso campus.
