Wounded Tigers Won't Lay Down for UTEP

The Memphis Tigers are 1-2 after losses to Mississippi State (49-7) and East Carolina (49-27).  The Tigers do hold an edge of UTEP (2-1), having never lost to the Miners in their series history (3-0).  7pm Saturday night in the Sun Bowl, UTEP will host Memphis in their Conference USA opener.

Memphis receiver Marcus Rucker said, "I feel that if we play to our ability, we can beat anybody. Like last year when we beat them, they were coming off a win against Houston, and they came down here and we beat them. I actually scored my first touchdown against UTEP."  Linebacker Winston Bowens added, "Only way we can change it is to go and win on Saturday. You could pretty much say whatever you want to say on who's going to win or who's not, but once the ball is put down, that's when we are really going to determine who is the winner."
