WORLD CUP: Jenny Chiu, Emily Alvarado predict champion
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso soccer sweethearts Jenny Chiu and Emily Alvarado were invited to try out for the Mexico Women's U20 National Team once again. Before they head to Mexico City, they spoke with NewsChannel 9 to make their prediction for the 2014 World Cup. Hear their picks in the video above.
Chiu was a standout forward at Franklin High School and is currently on athletic scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chiu was the captain of the U17 Mexico W.N.T and played in the 2012 U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan.
Alvarado just finished her sophomore year at Coronado and was the starting keeper for the U17 Mexico W.N.T. in both the 2014 U17 Women's CONCACAF and U17 Women's World Cup.
