The Drowning Prevention Coalition was formed in March, 2010 through the efforts of Laura and Eddie Castle, parents of Christian Castle who passed away through a drowning 6 years ago.

Various community organizations, groups and agencies in the city have come together as one with the following mission statement: “To promote, develop and support training and community education efforts that prevent drowning, near drowning and other water related incidents in El Paso County and the surrounding areas.”

Wet –N-Wild Waterworld is hosting a great event called the World’s Largest Swim Lesson at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Wet N Wild Waterworld, 8804 S. Desert Blvd.

The event is being held in conjunction with swimming lessons throughout the country being done at the same time, thus the World’s Largest Swim Lesson, which is a great way to encourage more children and adults to Learn to Respect all Bodies of Water.
