This week in NMSU Athletics
The New Mexico State baseball team hits the road for a two-game series against Oklahoma, Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13, with both games beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Aggies then return home to face Alabama A&M in four games, starting Friday, March 15, at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, March 16 features a doubleheader starting at 3:05 p.m., while the series finale is scheduled for Sunday, March 17 with the first pitch set for 1:05 p.m.
As defending WAC Tournament Champions, the New Mexico State men's basketball team opens the tournament against No. 6 seed Idaho, Thursday, March 14 at 1 p.m. in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Orleans Arena. The tournament games can be heard on the Aggie Sports Network and KGRT 104 FM in Las Cruces with the 'Voice of the Aggies' Jack Nixon, and the pregame show starts 30 minutes prior to tip.
The NM State women's basketball team looks at a rematch against the UT Arlington Mavericks on Tuesday, March 12, for the first day of the 2013 WAC Championship. NM State faces the Mavs at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., at 3:30 p.m.
The New Mexico State men's golf team competes this week at the Don Puckette National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. Justin Shin, Kenneth Fadke, Brett Walker, Derek Baade and Joey Martinez represent the men's golf program. Last time out, the Aggies finished tied for 13th at the Bayou City Collegiate Championships. Shin tied for 18th overall.
The NM State softball team looks to its final non-conference regular season weekend before moving on to conference play with a three-game series versus Nebraska on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 in Lincoln, Neb.
Swimming and Diving
New Mexico State freshman diver Audrey Ruiz is competing at the NCAA Zone 'E' Diving Championships, Thursday, March 14 to Saturday, March 16 at the Air Force Academy Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Aggie men's tennis team gets back to the NM State Tennis Center for two matches. First, the Aggies welcome Western New Mexico on Sunday, March 17.
The Aggie women's tennis team hosts I-10 rival UTEP on Friday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at the NM State Tennis Center.
