New Mexico State Head Football coach DeWayne Walker has already anointed sophomore Andrew Manley as the teams starting quarterback following the first week of preseason camp. He has been impressed with how quickly his team has grasped the new offensive scheme implemented by new offensive coordinator Doug Martin. Walker has high hopes for his young signal caller noting that he has all the tools to be great.

"His biggest challenge is going to be consistency. When he is on he has the chance to be one of the better quarterbacks in this conference. When he's not he is one of the worst quarterbacks in this conference," said Walker. "We just have to build on some consistency. Continue to build some confidence with him and I think he will be ok at the end of the day."

If Manley struggles, Walker said he will not hesitate to replace him with backup Matt Christian who started most of last season for the Aggies. NMSU will put the sophomore to the test on September 3rd when they host Ohio.
