The junior earned the honor after claiming two first-place finishes at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas. The Miner registered the 10th-best mark in the nation in the triple jump with a season best of 15.86m (52-00.50). The jumper carried the momentum to the long jump and once again posted a seasonbest leap of 7.35m (24-01.50), earning him the No. 46 spot in the nation in the event.

Not only did Jackson receive national recognition with his performance but he also holds the top spots in the conference performance list in both events. This is the juniors first C-USA Athlete of the Week honor and the second for the Miners this season.

The squads will take the track on Feb. 23-24 for the C-USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
