UTEP tennis player Rebeca Calvillo has been named to the All-Conference USAthird team as voted by the coaches, the league office announced on Monday.

The native of Durango, Mexico is the first Miner to win all-conference honors since Weronika Bloczynska won second team honors in 2009.

The junior helped the Miners instrument a 12-win season after only two in 2012, the biggest differential since winning six in 1994 to 16 in 1995.

Calvillo, who started at the No. 2 position, moved to No. 1 against Drake University on Feb. 8 and won her first nine matches at that position. She posted a 12-6 record at the No. 1 spot, while compiling a career-best 16-8 dual match overall record.

Her efforts helped the Orange and Blue win all six home matches; the first undefeated record in the Sun City since 2004.
