All American Anthony Rotich captured second place at the 2013 NCAA Mountain Region Cross Country Championships in Ogden, Utah on Friday.

Rotich completed the men’s 10K with a time of 29:23.6 to finish second out of 115 runners. This is the sophomore’s second silver finish of the 2013 season.

Also representing UTEP on the men’s side is Cosmas Boit, who clocked in a time of 30:02.8, placing 22nd overall. The third Miner to finish the race was Elphas Mayo as he placed 37th. The sophomore registered a time of 30:18.9 as the squad concluded the competition in 10th place overall.

Leading the women’s team was freshman Truphena Sum who posted a time of 23:05.3 in the 6K race. Following close behind was El Paso native Laura Delgado with a time of 24:06.5.
