UTEP men's golf moves up at Burns Intercollegiate
El Paso, TX — The UTEP men’s golf team climbed from a tie for seventh place to a tie for fifth place on the second day of the John Burns Intercollegiate on Thursday in Lihue, Hawaii.
The Miners shaved four strokes off their first-day score and stand at 580 (292-288) heading into Friday’s final round.
California heads up the 17-team field (278-282-560).
UTEP’s Jere Pelletier is tied for 11th place with a two-under-par 142 (72-70), Martin Simonsen (73-72-145) and Roberto Ruiz (72-73-145) are tied for 23rd place, Jacob Loya is tied for 39th place (75-73-148) and Ryan Fioretti is tied for 80th place (78-77-155).
