Rebeca Calvillo and Davina Meza of the UTEP women’s tennis team has been named to the All-Conference USA singles third team as voted by the coaches, the league office announced on Tuesday.

This is Calvillo’s second consecutive season making the all-conference team. It is also the first time a pair of Miners were named all conference in the same season since 2001. Ana Brnas and Jana Perkova were named All-WAC in singles that season.

Calvillo completed her final season for the Miners recording a 20-14 record at the No. 1 position, including a 13-9 mark in dual-match competition. She also teamed with Meza to forge a 23-9 doubles record on the No. 1 court, including finishing 15-4 during dual-match play.

The native of Durango, Mexico finished her career as the Miners’ all-time leader in doubles wins (74), eclipsing the previous record of 68 held by Erica Wentz. Her 151 career combined wins is ranked second all time.

Meza completed her first season with the Orange and Blue after transferring from Cal State Stanislaus before the 2013 fall season. The junior garnered a team-best 24-11 record, while completing a 16-7 mark during dual-match play.

The native of New Zealand teamed with Calvillo, recording a 23-9 overall doubles record, including a 15-4 spring mark. Meza finished the 2014 spring season winning her last nine singles matches. Meza’s 47 combined wins in 2014 is the third-best single-season mark in program history.
