The New Mexico State women’s tennis team will have two matches this coming weekend. The first match is set for Friday, March 21, and will take place at the NM State Tennis Center, and the Aggies conclude the weekend on a small road trip to El Paso on Sunday.

NM State is currently sitting at a record of 4-8 on the season and is looking to find a spark and snap a four-game losing streak after two weeks away from competition. The Aggies are led by fourth year head coach, Ivan Fernandez.

The Aggies take on in-state rival New Mexico to begin the weekend. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. (MDT) and is free to the public. New Mexico is currently sitting at a record of 9-6 on the season, and are coming off a recent loss to North Texas (2-5) on Monday, March 14. The Lobos are led by two-year head coach, Erica Perkins Jasper.
Last season’s matchup between the Aggies and Lobos was March 30, when New Mexico was able to defeat NM State 4-3.

In the final match of the weekend NM State takes on cross-border rival UTEP. The match is set for Sunday, March 23, and will begin at 10 a.m. at the El Paso Tennis Club. The Miners are sitting with a record of 8-9 on the season and are recently coming off of a victory against Utah State (4-1) on Sunday, March 16.

The Aggies and Miners met each other last season on Friday, March 15, a match in which NM State was victorious over UTEP by a final of 4-3.
