UPDATED: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 - 9:33pm

The UTEP men’s basketball team tips off a two-game homestand versus Florida Atlantic on Thursday, and is asking for help from the fans to “Black Out” the Don Haskins Center.

For the first time, the team will wear black uniforms in a home game when it takes on the Owls at 7:05 p.m. The students, band and spirit squads will also be in black. Fans are asked to wear black as well.

UTEP (18-6, 8-1 C-USA) sits atop the Conference USA standings and has the nation’s 10th-longest active win streak at eight games. The Miners have won five straight conference games by 10 points or more for the first time since 1957. UTEP is 13-1 in its last 14 games.

The Miners will also host FIU on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Saturday’s game will feature a special halftime performance by “America’s Got Talent” winner Olate Dogs.

Single-game tickets start at $8 and are available now by calling 747-5234.
