THE OPENING ACT

- UTEP will return to action at Houston at 12 p.m. MST Sunday.
- Game will air on KHRO 1150 AM in El Paso.
- The Miners (15-2, 3-1 C-USA) bested Rice, 49-48, on Jan. 24.
- The Cougars (9-8, 3-1) toppled Southern Miss, 81-70, on Jan. 24.
- Houston is  8-2 at home, including 2-0 in C-USA action on year.
- UTEP is 3-1 on road , including 2-0 in C-USA play, this year.
- Won school-record 11 consecutive C-USA road contests.
- Previous mark was 9 (2006-07 through 2007-08)
- Aiming for 2nd straight & 3rd overall road sweep of UH & Rice.
- Also achieved feat in 2007-08.
- 15-2 record for fourth time in program history.
- 2006-07, 2007-08 & 2011-12 also did so.
- 2007-08 improved to 27-2 & finished 28-4.
- 2011-12 moved to 25-2 & finished 29-4
- 2006-07 climbed to 16-2 & finished 22-8.
- Off to start of at least 3-1 in league play for 8th time at school.
- 2007-08 (16-0), 2011-12 (15-1), 1992-93 (6-1), 1997-98 (5-1), 2008-09 (4-1), 2006-07 (4-1) & 1975-76 (3-1) were at least 3-1.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS, HONORS & MORE

- Five straight weeks receiving votes in the polls.
- 29th in Associated Press & tied for 35th in Coaches’ Poll.
- Rated fourth in ESPN.com Midmajor poll.
- Stand 58th in the RPI (RPIRatings.com)
- Record of 3-0 on year vs. top-100 RPI foes.
- Four C-USA weekly award recipients.
-  Kristine Vitola (11/12), Kayla Thornton (12/17) & Anete Steinberga (1/14) were the player of the week while Irene Gari (12/10) was the freshman of the week.

QUITE A RUN

- 44-6 since start of the 2011-12 season, including 15-2 this year.
- 29 wins, including 7 this year, by 10+ points.
- 6 losses by combined 20 points, with 2 losses this year by 5 total.
- 60-20 since start of 2010-11 campaign.
- 18 of 20 losses in that timeframe by single digits.
- Last double-digit loss was at Houston (61-77, 2/20/11).
- Other in sequence was at UCSB (50-68, 12/11/10).
