Tuesday, April 6:  UTEP Senior Quarterback Trevor Vittatoe, suspended 6 games for violating team rules, was back at practice but in a different capacity than we all expected.  Vittatoe will miss the rest of spring football practice due to surgery on his shoulder.  Vittatoe noticed discomfort in his shoulder over a month ago.  UTEP Head Coach Mike Price said, "In the last two or three weeks it's gotten worse, so he had a procedure done this weekend that is going to keep him out the rest of spring." Trevor Vittatoe called it a "minor setback" and added, "To have the surgery now I think it is a better decision. To do it now and miss spring and support the guys and give the younger guys some more chances to get a lot of reps."  The backup quarterbacks who will be getting most of the reps will be James Thomas, Tim Curry and Carson Meger.
