UPDATED: Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - 7:38pm

The New Mexico State men's basketball team has its first rivalry game of the season, when NM State travels to El Paso, Texas, to face UTEP, Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on the Aggie Sports Network and KGRT 104 FM in Las Cruces with the 'Voice of the Aggies' Jack Nixon, and the pregame show starts 30 minutes prior to tip. The game is also available in Spanish with Edgar Gardell on Vista 98.7 FM.

The Miners are 1-0 at home this season with a 69-49 victory over Oral Roberts on Nov. 9. NMSU is 0-2 on the road with losses at Oregon State on Nov. 11 (71-62) and at Niagara on Nov. 18 (86-83).
- The last time UTEP played its second home game on Nov. 28 or later was in 2001. The Miners tipped off the campaign with an 88-55 rout of Arkansas-Monticello in El Paso (Nov. 16), then didn’t return to the friendly confines of the Don Haskins Center until Dec. 6, when they knocked off Washington 74-62.

- UTEP begins a season-long six-game homestand against the Aggies. The Miners won’t leave El Paso again until Jan. 1.

- After Wednesday, the Miners will play just one game in 18 days, hosting Idaho on Dec. 8. UTEP will play four games in seven days from Dec. 17-23 leading into the holiday break.

- The Miners enter the NMSU contest with a four-game losing streak, tying their longest under coach Tim Floyd. UTEP also dropped four straight games from Jan. 21-Feb. 4 of last season. The last time the Miners dropped five consecutive games was from Jan. 30-Feb. 22, 2003, when they lost eight in a row.

New Mexico State Aggies
The Aggies are 3-3 this season following a pair of wins at home. Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings is leading the team in scoring with 14.0 points. Senior forward Tyrone Watson supplies 13.0 points per game, and senior forward Bandja Sy is contributing 9.3 points per game.

Scouting UTEP
The Miners are 1-4 overall this season following a tough early schedule. UTEP lost to Vanderbilt, 73-49, Nov. 25, in their final game of the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla. Junior guard John Bohannon has a team-high 10.2 points per game, and sophomore forward/guard Julian Washburn contributes 9.6 points per game.

Series Notes
