Saturday, June 5: UTEP Head Football coach says he signed 20 players last year that had ties to UTEP Football camps. He hopes to continue that trend with this weekend's camp at the Sun Bowl. Nearly 100 high school football players attended the camp today, and Price liked the enthusiasm, because there are coaches ready to teach with NFL experience. Mike Price: "Hopefully the biggest things that they're going to learn is a special technique for their position. We also coach the punters and kickers, which is something that some camps don't do. So I think just the techniques of your specific position... When you've got a guy like Andre Patterson, who's coached a defensive line for four NFL pro teams for 13 years... He knows how to coach D-line, and you're going to learn something from him." Sunday, UTEP will hold a 7-on-7 tournament for the local high schools, the Championship game is scheduled at approx. 7:30pm at the Sun Bowl.
