UTEP Football Prepared to Take on Conference USA's Favorite

Wednesday, September 8, 2010 - 6:43pm

UTEP and Head Coach Mike Price know a 31-10 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff looks decent on paper, but the Miners can play so much better.  They will need to this Friday night, when UTEP travels to Conference USA's Preseason Favorite, Houston.  The Cougars come in with the Conference's best offense led by QB Case Keenum, and they have UTEP defenders attention.  "This is a Conference USA offense, you know, they dominate this conference, and to be a defense, it gives us great pride in trying to stop Case Keenum and we look forward to trying to put some brakes on them", said UTEP junior linebacker Isaiah Carter.  Mike Price said they have a new defensive coordinator in Brian Stewart.  His name might sound familiary, he was the Dallas Cowboys Defensive Coordinator from 2007 to 2009.  Last season, he was a defensive special assistant in the Philadelphia Eagles organization.  "They have a new defensive coordinator who is just a super coach and really great person. He was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys so I think he will run some of the cowboys looks so it's going to be a different look defensively", said Mike Price.  8:15pm Friday night, UTEP at Houston televised on ESPN.
