UTEP Football: Freytag Impressing Coaches
Camp Socorro continues in New Mexico and players begin to stand out and one of those players is an El Paso freshman. Head Coach Mike Price singled out former Coronado receiver Cole Freytag out as a player who the Miners could turn to this year to contribute. Freytag is returning from an offseason ankle injury and has healed ahead of schedule. Coaches are now cautiously optimistic but Cole sees it as a big opportunity.
"I wish I would have known in high school what I know now. It would have made me such a better player. I'm glad I'm learning it now and I still have a lot of year to go. I can only go up and that's the way I'm looking at it. I like representing El Paso and hopefully I'm doing a good job," said Freytag.
Coaches hope that Cole can advance far enough to crack a third and fourth option at receiver.
