UTEP Ends Year With 31-14 Defeat

UTEP needed one more win to qualify for a bowl game.  Instead it recevied the short end of a season ending 31-14 defeat to Central Florida on Friday night in Orlando.

There was no need to go to Disney World to see fireworks .  The UTEP defense wastched  Latavius Murray rush for a career-high 233 yards and score three times to help Central Florida to a 24-0 halftime lead. 

Murray  scored on runs of 38 and 40 yards.  He also  caught a 6-yard pass while the Knight's defense held UTEP to just 94 total yards in the first half.

Trailing 31-0 in the fourth quarter, UTEP rallied with a pair of touchdowns.  Nick Lamaison tossed a three yard pass to Jordan Leslie while Joe Banyard scored on a  7-yard scoring run.

The Miners finish 5-7 (2-6) and fall one win short of a bowl game.
