UTEP Announces Promotions, Ticket Specials For Basketball & Football Games
Sports
Monday, November 5, 2012 - 1:49pm

It’s a busy week for UTEP Athletics, with the Miner men’s & women’s basketball and football teams all competing at home this weekend.

The UTEP men’s basketball team will tip-off its 2012-13 season versus Oral Roberts, a team that posted 27 wins a year ago, on Friday (Nov. 9) at 7 pm. The women’s basketball squad will launch the 2012-13 campaign against Loyola Marymount on Saturday (Nov. 10) at 1:05 pm. The football team will take on Conference USA Eastern Division leader UCF on Saturday (Nov. 10) at 5 pm.

Friday night will mark “80’s Night” at the Don Haskins Center. The Miners will wear retro 80’s uniforms and free headbands will be given to the first 5,000 fans, compliments of El Paso Electric. Friday’s Miner Legend is Mike Richmond, a member of two NCAA Tournament teams in the 80’s. UTEP Basketball season tickets start at $160 and are on sale now by calling 747-6150. Individual game tickets, as low as $8, are available by calling 747-5234. Fans can also purchase individual game tickets at the UTEP Eastside ticket center, 1452 North Zaragosa (747-8900).

Fans can gain free admission to the football game on Saturday by exchanging their ticket stub from Friday’s men’s basketball game.

Women’s basketball individual game ticket prices are $3 (children) and $5 (adults). Season tickets are available for $50 by calling 747-6150.

Saturday is “Military Night” in the Sun Bowl. Live music in the Gameday Zone, located in the center of campus, starts at 3 pm. It’s “Take a Kid to the Game Night,” sponsored by the Southwest Dairy Farmers. Fans can purchase one adult bronze reserved or general admission ticket and receive a youth ticket free in the same section. Sodexho will also be offering a family food special with four hot dogs and four soft drinks for $25.
