The Rangers opened up a 3-0 lead against ace Jason Verlander and the Detroit Tigers before the weather delayed play.

Game 1 resumed for 16 minutes before rain again halted action. It was enough time, however, for Austin Jackson to double in Detroit's first run, and then Jackson scored from third on a wild pitch from C.J. Wilson, who walked consecutive batters after Jackson's double.

With two outs, Wilson intentionally walked Magglio Ordonez to load the bases for left-hand hitting catcher Alex Aliva, who flied into a long out in the second inning.

But, before Ordonez could walk to first base, the rain came pouring down again and play halted with the Rangers leading, 3-2.

"If anywhere in the country has a drought, just bring me in and I'll fix that," Verlander said after the Rangers beat him 3-2 Saturday night in Game 1 of the AL championship series opener.

Alexi Ogando, who got all three of the Rangers' regular-season wins over Detroit this year, pitched two scoreless innings for the victory. Neftali Feliz, clocked at up to 101 mph, worked the ninth for his fourth save this postseason.
