Tigers Hit Three Home Runs, Defeat Rangers, 5-2

The Detroit Tigers kept their World Series hopes alive with a 5-2 victory at home against the Texas Rangers.  Texas still leads the series, 2-1.  Game 4 Wednesday in Detroit, 2:19pm MDT.

Detroit had three home runs from Victor Martinez, Jhonny Peralta, and Miguel Cabrera.  Texas pitcher Colby Lewis was charged with the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six.

Now, the Rangers will have to hope left-hander Matt Harrison helps them stay ahead in the best-of-seven series when he pitches against Detroit's Rick Porcello in Game 4 Wednesday.

Tigers improve to 5-0 in LCS Game 3s all-time. They've allowed a total of 8 runs in those 5 games.

Tigers had 3 HR in Game 3, matching their most in a postseason game, previously done 3 times, most recently in Game 5 of the 1984 World Series.
