Three Diablos Named to All Star Team

The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball today announced the teams for the 2010 All-Star Game. The game will be held on Tuesday, July 27 in Wichita, KS and feature the South Division All-Stars against the North Division All-Stars. The starting lineups and pitchers were determined by the league’s 10 field managers and media personnel. The reserves were selected by South Division All-Star manager Talmadge Nunnari and North Division All-Star manager Marty Scott.

Three Diablos made the team. Hector Bernal will start at 2nd base, Shaun Ellis is among the pitchers, and catcher Benji Johnson will be a reserve.

Bernal hit .329 the first half of the season, with 23 RBIs and 26 runs scored on 55 hits. Ellis was a team best 7-1 as a starter. And Johnson hit .325 with 6 home runs, 22 RBI's and slugged .663 in the first half of the season.
