The Diablos Take Different Approach Toward This Season

Sunday, May 2:  The El Paso Diablos missed the American Association Playoffs last season for the 2nd straight year, and Manager Butch Henry took a different approach to the offseason and signing of players for the upcoming season.  Henry traded power and hitting for speed and defense, and he hopes it will help the Diablos get back to the playoffs.  After just two days of Spring Training, Butch Henry said he liked the way his team is coming together as a unit.  "I like what I'm seeing. I like that signs. I'm not going to tell you we've gelled and we're a cohesive unit yet. That's not going to happen for some time, but I like the signs that I'm seeing so far."  Pitcher Justin Mallett added, "It's basically like we just picked up where we left off like we all played together all last season. We're in the locker room and on the field having a good time, getting our work in. It's just fun, man."
