T-Birds Ready to fly on Signing Day

Sports

POSTED: Monday, January 31, 2011 - 7:40pm

UPDATED: Monday, January 31, 2011 - 9:11pm

Both Coronado Seniors Cole Freytag and Adam Roberts are ready for signing day to come on Wednesday. Freytag, a QB/WR/RB has committed to play receiver at UTEP, while Roberts, a Tight End, has committed to San Diego State. The pressures can be enormous for High School Seniors, and these two have tackled the signing process with ease. Both spoke with family members and coaches for their input before making their decision.

"There is a lot of pressure for any athlete that plays in high school and especially if you want to play on the college level, and a lot of coaches, like my coaches, would try to influence me to one school or another, and even my parents went to go look at ivy league schools, because for a while my mom wanted me to go do that," said Adam Roberts. Cole Freytag added, "Actually, my parents and I kind of got into it a little, about what school I was going to go to, I wasn't sure I wanted to go to UTEP at first, but I mean it was definitely my best offer, but they were right at the end, it was where I wanted to go."
