Spence Resigns as NMSU Women's Basketball Head Coach

NMSU Women's Basketball Head Coach Darin Spence resigned today from his position, affective April 30. NMSU was 14-18 overall, 7-9 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Statement from NM State Athletics Director Dr. McKinley Boston Announces Spence Resigns -
“Coach Spence has resigned his position as Head Women's basketball coach effective April 30, 2011. Coach Spence has managed his program in a very professional manner over the past eight years and I thank him for that service.”
Statement from Women’s Basketball Coach Darin Spence on his Resignation –
“I want to thank New Mexico State University and the City of Las Cruces for the opportunity to be the head women’s basketball coach over the last eight years. We made a lot of strides in this program and had lots of firsts and that is something that I’m very proud of. I’m just at the point in my career, where I need a new challenge.”
