Skelton released by NFL's Cardinals

Today, a tough young career came to and end in Arizona, after former Burges Mustang Quarterback John Skelton was released by the Arizona Cardinals. It's rumored that Arizona is looking to sign Carson Palmer, and have already signed Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer, which made Skelton the odd man out.

Skelton was a 5th round draft pick in 2010 out of Fordham University, and actually went 7-1 as a starter in 2011, his rookie year, but was 1-8 since. Skelton threw for 1132 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, but was also intercepted 9 times, and was sacked 15 times. Skelton was 109-201 in 2013, good for just 54.2%

John Skelton tweeted: "C'est la vie. Had some good times in AZ along with more than a few bad. On to the next endeavor."
