Skelton, Cardinals Drop Fifth Straight Contest

Sports

UPDATED: Sunday, November 4, 2012 - 11:54pm

The Packers added to the Arizona Cardinals' misery by handing the ailing birds their fifth straight loss, 31-17. This after Arizona started the year winning their first four games.

Green Bay offered a balanced attack, that the Cardinals had no answer for, until it was too late. Arizona Head Coach Ken Wisenhunt said after the game that changes could be coming to the Cardinals lineups.

"They made some great catches, quarterback made some good throws. We, on the other hand dropped some balls, jumped off-sides on third down, all things that we're going to work to correct, and we're going to work with the guys who are willing to do that. So if we have to... make changes, if we have to put different guys in there, that's what this bye week is going to be for, and we'll go forward from that point," said Wisenhunt.

Former Burges grad John Skelton had a solid outing completing 23 of 46 passes for 306 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Arizona offense struggled in the redzone settling for field goals and it is something Skelton said must change.

"Moving forward we just go to find a way to get six points instead of three. All these drives that we have that are stalling out, we just got to find a way to get points on the board," said Skelton.

The Cardinals will now have two weeks to prepare for a date with potentially undefeated Atlanta in the Georgia Dome.
