Santa Teresa Celebrates Basketball State Championship

The Santa Teresa Boys Basketball did something back on March 10th never done before in the history of the school, win a state championship.  Today, the Desert Warriors reaped the benefits, and celebrated with the entire Southern New Mexico fan base.

Adrian Ortegon was named 4A State MVP for his play in the state touranment, helping Santa Teresa win their final six games of the season, defeating Gallup, 58-43 in the 4A State Championship game at The Pit in Albuquerque.

"You can't take away winning a State Championship. Every since we won it, we've been floating in the air. It feels good," said Ortegon.  Assistant coach Donald Dotson added, "It's been great for the kids. It's been great for the school. It's been great for our community. We all celebrated. We all got to enjoy it. We are still living on that high, on that dream."
