Ryan fired as Defensive Coordinator of Cowboys

Sports

POSTED: Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 6:58pm

UPDATED: Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 10:31am

It appears that Rob Ryan's days as Defensive Coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys are over. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones notified Ryan that his days as a DC in Dallas are over. Ryan had one year remaining on a three-year contract.

Statistically speaking, the Dallas defense was not good last season.... finishing 17th against the run, 21st against the pass and 19th overall.

The Cowboys gave up at least 28 points in four of their final six games.

Dallas was Ryan's fourth job in the NFL, before that he had served as Defensive Coordinator in Cleveland and in Oakland, and had coached linebackers in New England.

I can only hope that one day soon Jerry Jones will fire himself. I cringe every time I see him talking about the cowboys football team as if he were the coach. Yes he is the owner but can he please just sit back and let the coaches coach the team. Even when the cowboys won the Super Bowl, he was not happy. Remember what he did when the boys last won the Super Bowl? I sure do and he was wrong then & he is wrong now. Can he please put himself on leave.
