Walnut, Calif. – Sophomore Anthony Rotich registered a stellar performance at the 55th Annual Mt. SAC Relays at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

The distance runner competed in the 3,000m steeplechase for the first time this season and proved to be a threat on the course this season. Rotich clocked in a personal-best of 8:37.47, which is also the second-bestmark in the nation, thus far.

The sophomore was the first collegiate runner to cross the finish line in the event. His time also secured the Kenyan native the top spot in the Conference USA performance list.

Risper Kimaiyo will take the track tomorrow in the 5,000m at 8:40 p.m. (MT). This will be the first time that the All-American will compete in the 5,000m since she had to sit out last season due to an injury. The senior is currently ranked eighth in the nation in the 10,000m with a time of 33:24.21.
