Boxing returns to the city of El Paso on July 18th as former heavyweight contender David “Nino” Rodriguez (36-1, 34 KOs) returns to the ring to kick off the “Southwest Fight Series,” hosted by Southwest University and promoted by Pound 4 Pound in association with Nino Bravo Promotions. The popular Rodriguez, who hails from El Paso, will fight for the vacant WBC Latino Heavyweight title against a TBA in the main event.

In the co-main event, local flyweight prospect Joel Garcia (8-1) will take on a TBA in an 8-round fight for a local “Southwest Flyweight Championship” belt.

The upcoming fight card on July 18th will be the first of a series of fights hosted by Southwest University. The seven fight card will take place at the Southwest Event Center (6500 Montana Avenue) with tickets starting at $20 for general admission and $50 for ringside.
