Wednesday, May 26:  El Paso has had several big league players in baseball over the years, one with a bright future is Omar Quintanilla.  The former Socorro Bulldog and Texas Longhorn made a name for himself two years ago with the Colorado Rockies.  In spring training of this year, Omar went down with a partially torn MCL in his knee.  I spoke to him today, Omar has recovered, but in a rehab assignment, Quintanilla pulled his calf muscle.  He is on the 7-day disabled list.  Omar expects to be out for another week, then will begin more rehab with the Rockies Triple A affiliate, the Sky Sox.  Here's hoping Omar gets healthy soon and we see him back in the majors with the Rockies.
