UTEP Head Football Coach Mike Price made good on his promise, closing practice today to the media.  The Coach, along with several players, spoke to the media before practice.  Again, Price would not speak about specific injuries, but noted that they are banged up.  "Well, we're not going to hit too much, but we have moved some guys around to different positions, offensively and defensively."  Junior Dl Yahchaaroah Stewart said, "When injuries occur, so it's just another day that we have to continue to work."

As far as the quarterback situation, it's still unclear what will take place this Saturday night at the Sun Bowl against Tulane.  Trevor Vittatoe injured his ankle and shoulder in the loss at UAB, meaning backup James Thomas II is getting some reps at practice.

"It's definitely exciting, I want to thank Coach Price for this opportunity, because this is what I want to do, is to play division one quarterback. It didn't work out like that, but stuck with me, kept believing in me, and Coach Aaron Price too, so it's a blessing and an opportunity. I expect Trevor to play, he's a warrior and we all know that, he's played through injuries before, so I don't doubt that he will probably be ready to pla," said Thomas.
