After spending the month of March and early April in the western states, the World of Outlaws begins their trek toward the Midwest, but not before settling some unfinished business in Texas.

The World of Outlaws sprint car series features one of the toughest schedules in motorsports with nearly 100 events held every year. Last year, a Tuesday night show at El Paso Speedway Park provided some of the best racing on the schedule as the king of sprint cars Steve Kinser gave fans a glimpse why he has 577 victories. Kinser recorded a dominant win in front of packed grandstands and kept a perfect record alive. In 1992, he won the only other races in the metropolitan area across the border in Mexico at Autopista Juarez.

Kinser and all of the outlaws will be back in town in 2014 for another Tuesday night show, April 15th. Tickets were in high demand last year and the track expects the grandstands to be filled once more. Kinser has announced this will be his final year chasing the title and it may be the last opportunity for El Paso natives to see him race live and be a part of his legendary career.

Saying farewell to Kinser is only one reason to attend the El Paso race.
Donny Schatz and Paul McMahan are embroiled in one of the tightest points’
battles in recent history. Swapping the lead several times during the western swing, Schatz comes to El Paso with a mere seven-point lead in the standings.
He has done this on the back of two victories and nine top-fives. McMahan has one victory so far in the first 14 races of the season, but both drivers have been nearly perfect in regard to top-10s with 12 apiece.

Daryn Pittman is keeping the pressure on these two drivers. He scored his second victory of the season at Calistoga Speedway last week and sits only five points behind McMahan.

Fourth in the standings is Joey Saldana and he highlights another outstanding feature of this exciting season. With a victory Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway in California, Saldana became the 10th different driver in 14 races to record a victory. This much equality in the field will insure fans need to use only the edge of their seats to find out who gets to the checkers first.
And it very well could be yet another first-time winner. Sitting seventh in the points, Tim Kaeding is still looking for his first win of the season.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is brought to fans across the country by many important sponsors and partners, including: American Racing Custom Wheels (Official Custom Wheel), Armor All (Official Car Care Products), Lincoln Welders (Official Welder), STP (Official Fuel Treatment), Hoosier Racing Tire (Official Tire), VP Racing Fuels (Official Racing Fuel); in addition to contingency sponsors, including: Bruce High Performance Transporters, Cometic Gasket, Comp Cams, Edelbrock, JE Pistons, KSE Racing Products, MSD, Sweet Manufacturing, and Superflow Dynos; along with manufacturer sponsors, including: ButlerBuilt, Intercomp, J&J Auto Racing, Jake’s Carts, Racing Electronics, S&S Volvo and TNT Rescue.
