Oregon jumps FSU in BCS Standings

Oregon has passed Florida State in the second BCS Standings of the season. Alabama retains the top spot. 

Statement from BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock:
“Eight unbeaten teams remain. Last year at this time there were ten undefeated teams,
but only Notre Dame finished the regular season without a loss. With six weeks to go, it will be
interesting to see how many teams finish the season undefeated.”

Only once in the history of the BCS has neither No. 1 nor No. 2 in the Week 2 Standings played in the BCS National Championship Game. Texas and Alabama were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively on Oct. 26, 2008 (Week 2), and neither team played in the national title game.
