After much anticipation, the city officially broke ground Thursday for El Paso’s new Ballpark, which will be home to El Paso’s new Triple-A baseball team next season, beginning in April 2014. The downtown site is fully cleared and ready for construction of the state-of-the-art baseball facility.

“The groundbreaking for El Paso’s Ballpark is a momentous occasion. It has taken many months and much hard work to reach this point. Now we can join together as a community to celebrate an event that is both a symbolic and very real development in an exciting and progressive future for our City,” said Mayor John Cook.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on the ballpark site, just off the intersection of E. Franklin Avenue and N. Santa Fe Street.
