The New Mexico State men's basketball team won its 12th consecutive game with a 67-57 victory at San Jose State. The Aggies (18-8, 12-2 WAC) had four players in double figures with sophomore guard Daniel Mullings leading the way with 15 points.
Junior forward Renaldo Dixon posted his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Senior forward Bandja Sy added 13 points and nine rebounds, and freshman center Sim Bhullar contributed 10 points.
With 10 blocked shots, the Aggies tied the school record for blocks in a single-season with 141. The previous mark was set during the1994-95 season. Bhullar blocked a game-high four shots. He now has 55 career blocks, which ranks second on the NM State single-season list.
The Aggies ended the first half on a 15-0 run in the last 4:49 to take a 38-25 advantage into the halftime break. Mullings and Dixon led the Aggies with nine points each.
NM State recorded a 46.7 field goal percentage (14-of-30) in the first half, while holding the Spartans to 35.7 percent (10-of-28). The Aggies controlled the boards with a 23-12 advantage on the glass with Dixon leading the way with a season-high eight rebounds.
The Aggies started the second half the way they finished the first with a run. NM State had a 10-0 rally, and held San Jose State scoreless for nine minutes. Over the span of both halves, the Aggies went on a 25-0 run.
The Aggies continue their road trip at Utah State, Saturday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
