New Mexico State head track and field coach Orin Richburg announced Monday that two New Mexico field athletes have signed National Letters of Intent. Akuadaso Ezenyilima (La Cueva High School) and Alexandra Winebeck (Sue Cleveland High School) will join the Aggies beginning in the fall of 2013.

She was the state 5A discus champion in 2013 and also placed fifth in the shot put. Ezenyilimba also competed in the Great Southwest Classic Track Meet and finished third in the discus throw.

Winebark competed in the discus throw, shot put and javelin in her high school career at Sue Cleveland High School. Winebark’s best distance in the discus throw was 38.40m (126.0). Her best distance in the shot put is 11.21m (36-9.5) and her best distance in the javelin is 35.25m (115-8). Winebark competed in the New Mexico 5A State Championship and finished fourth in the shot put.

“These two promising signees will add strength for the future on our women’s team,” assistant coach Donald Carmichael said. “We are especially pleased to be developing talent on our team from high school athletes in New Mexico and expect a strong contribution from both signees.”

The NM State track and field team finished their season by sending five athletes to the 2013 NCAA Preliminary round, including Kelsey Brennan who owns the all-time record for the Aggies in the javelin throw.
