NMSU Men's Basketball Heads to Albuquerque for Battle with Lobos
The New Mexico State men’s basketball team concludes the rivalry series for 2010-11 at New Mexico, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in Albuquerque. The game is available on KGRT 104 FM with the ‘Voice of the Aggies’ Jack Nixon calling the action and the pregame show starts at 6:30. The contest is available in Spanish on Vista 98.7 FM with Martin Cortez. The game is also televised on the Mountain.
The Aggies are 2-6 on the season following a tough overtime loss to New Mexico, 84-78, Dec. 4, in Las Cruces. Junior forward Troy Gillenwater leads NM State with a team-high 20.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Hernst Laroche is averaging 11.0 points and 4.4 assists per contest, while freshman guard Christian Kabongo adds 9.0 points per game.
The Lobos moved to 6-1 after the first Rio Grande Rivalry game of 2010-11. Senior guard Dairese Gary and junior guard Phillip McDonald are pacing the offense with 13.9 points and 13.3 points per game, respectively.
The Aggies trail the Lobos, 94-111, in the all-time series. New Mexico has won the last six games in the series. NM State is looking for its first win in Albuquerque since Dec. 15, 2002.
