NMSU Hopes to Start Win Streak when the Aggies Host Idaho Saturday

The New Mexico State men’s basketball team hosts Idaho, Saturday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. The games are available on KGRT 104 FM with the ‘Voice of the Aggies’ Jack Nixon calling the action and the pregame show starts 30 minutes prior to tip. The contests are available in Spanish on Vista 98.7 FM with Martin Cortez. The game is available on AggieVision, which is shown across New Mexico on Comcast stations, Fox Sports-Arizona, Altitude2, ESPN Full Court and ESPN3.com. The contests are taped delayed in Las Cruces (channel 4) until 11 p.m.

The Aggies moved to 11-11 and 5-3 in the WAC following a 96-87 overtime win over Boise State, Jan. 27. Junior forward Troy Gillenwater leads NM State with a team-high 19.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Junior guard Hernst Laroche is averaging 11.7 points and 4.7 assists per contest.

The Vandals have a 12-8 and 5-3 WAC record following a 71-56 loss at Louisiana Tech, Jan. 27. The Vandals have two players in double figures with sophomore center Kyle Barone leading the way with 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Senior guard Jeff Ledbetter adds 10.7 points per game.

The Aggies have an 18-3 advantage in the all-time series following a 74-69 win in Moscow, Idaho, Dec. 29 to begin the conference season.

NM State opened 2010-11 WAC play with a 74-69 win at Idaho, Dec. 29. Junior forward Troy Gillenwater led the Aggies with 22 points after missing the previous five games due to an injury. Sophomore forward Tyrone Watson and junior guard Hernst Laroche added 12 points while freshman center Tshilidzi Nephawe scored 10.

In their second overtime game of the season, the Aggies survived Boise State, 96-87, Jan. 27. Junior forward Troy Gillenwater scored a career-high 34 points to lead NM State. Junior guard Hernst Laroche also had a career night with 24 points, and sophomore forward Tyrone Watson recorded his first double-double with a career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds.
