Sports
Monday, March 18, 2013 - 4:27pm

The New Mexico State equestrian team will head to Martin, Tenn., March 22-23, for the Skyhawk Tournament, hosted by Tennessee-Martin. The Aggies will take on South Dakota State, Friday at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex.

“Our team needs a strong finish to the regular season in the Skyhawk Tournament this weekend, now is the time for solid, point-earning rides,” head coach Robin Morris-Walters said. “We beat SDSU earlier this month at a neutral site, I am confident we can win again.”

The Aggies faced South Dakota State earlier in the season, winning at home, 9-4.

Laura Bostwick, Hannah Swarthout, Emily McConnell, Amber Tassell will make-up the starting line-up for the Aggies in both Equitation on the Flat and Fences, while Shannon Dooley and Samantha Stephens will serve as the team’s alternates.

The Reining team will consist of Brynn Larson, Tara Wilson, Marissa Bartmann and Stefanie Story, while Haley Newkirk will be the alternate. In Horsemanship, Megan Gould, Larson, Lauren DeVoe and
Courtney Cruse will represent the Aggies, as Jessica Woolsey, Clarissa Edgerton and Rianna Storey will be the alternates.

Results for the competition will be available at www.NMStateSports.com
