NM State Men’s Golf Finishes 10th at Don Puckette N.I.T

The New Mexico State men’s golf team finished the final round at the Don Pucktte N.I.T. Sunday, March 17, at the par 72, 7,200-yard OMNI Tucson National. The Aggies carding a final round team score of 10-over par, 298, recording a three-round total of 9-over par, 873 (283-292-298).
Freshman Kenneth Fadke Lead the Aggies in the tournament with a 1-under par, 215 (72-70-73), placing in a tie for 19th overall. Fadke was 1-over par, 73 in the final round. Senior Justin Shin finished even par, 216 (70-71-75) for the tournament, carding a 3-over par, 75 in the final round. He tied for 22nd overall.
Sophomore Brett Walker shot a 3-over par, 75 in the final round, finishing the tournament at 4-over par, 220 (68-77-75), placing tied for 39th overall. Freshman Joey Martinez finished up his tournament at 9-over par, 225 (76-74-75), tying for 58th overall.
Senior Derek Baade shot a 5-over par, 77 in the final round and recorded a three-round score of 12-over par, 228, tying for 67th overall.
No. 5 New Mexico won the tournament at 20-under par, followed by No. 18 TCU (-19), No. 13 Oklahoma State (-12), No. 15 Arkansas (-9) and No. 27 Texas A&M (-5). Julien Brun of TCU won the individual tournament at 8-under par.
New Mexico State will be back in action on March 21-23 at the Desert Shootout in Phoenix, Ariz.
