The New Mexico State volleyball team played with intensity in the final match of the NM State Volleyball Tournament and pulled off a 3-1 win over Northern Illinois, Saturday, Sept. 14 in the Pan American Center.
The New Mexico State cross country team had a strong performance in El Paso, Texas, in the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13. The women’s team took home a first-place finish, while the men finished third on the day.
The New Mexico State Equestrian team opens its season this weekend with their annual Crimson & White inter-squad scrimmage, Saturday morning at the 9 a.m. at the NM State Equestrian Center. Admission is free to the event.
The New Mexico State soccer team hits the road for its final two non-conference matches. The Aggies meet Northern Colorado, Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in Greeley, Colo., and then face Wyoming, Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. in Laramie, Wyo.
UTEP takes on NM State in Las Cruces in the 91st matchup between the I-10 rivals. The Miners are playing seven road games for the first time since 2002. UTEP also played seven road contests in 1978, 1980, 1986, 1993, 1999 and 2000.
The New Mexico State volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Santa Clara in the Stan Sheriff Center by scores of 22-25, 25-17, 16-25, 25-27 on Sept. 7 to fall to 1-5 on the year while Santa Clara moves to 3-3 this season.
