Aggies sweep WAC honors

For the second time this season, the New Mexico State softball team was awarded the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week honors by the league office for the week of March 24-30.

The New Mexico State baseball team plays four games on the road this week starting with a single non-conference game against in-state rival New Mexico, Wednesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. (MT) with radio coverage on KSNM AM 570 in Las Cruces.

NM State fell 20-6 in the last game versus Sacramento State on Sunday, March 30. Third baseman Derek Umphres and first baseman Kris Koerper led the team in runs bringing in two each.

New Mexico State track and field athlete Jenna Bangegas was named the Western Athleteic Conference track athlete of the week for the week of March 17-23. This marks the first time Banegas has wonthis award.

NMSU softball defeats I-10 rivals, 14-3

The New Mexico softball team closed out the three-game series with I-10 rival UTEP on Tuesday, March 25 with a 14-3 win to go 2-1 in the series.

Aggie baseball falls to Lobos at home

The New Mexico State baseball team lost to in-state rival New Mexico, 14-4, on Tuesday afternoon at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies are now 10-14 on the season while the Lobos improve to 17-8-1.

NMSU releases spring volleyball schedule

New Mexico State volleyball head coach Mike Jordon recently announced the 2014 spring schedule, which includes a televised scrimmage against national powerhouse Texas, on April 12.

Miners and Aggies to play Tuesday on ESPN3

The UTEP softball team will face I-10 rival NM State for a third and final timethis season. The Miners (12-20) and Aggies (17-15) will square off in Las Cruces on Tuesday, March 25 during a televised game on ESPN3 at 6 p.m. MT.

This week in NMSU athletics

The Aggies take on I-25 rival New Mexico, Tuesday, March 25 at 3 p.m., than host their first WAC series of the season March 28-30, as Sacramento State comes to town. This will be the first games played at Presley Askew Field since March 2.

NM State Baseball Takes Series over UTPA

The New Mexico State baseball team defeated Texas-Pan American, Sunday afternoon, 3-2. The victory also gave the Aggies the series, 2-1. NM State is now 10-13 overall and 2-1 in WAC play.
