Las Cruces, NM — The New Mexico State cross country teams travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the Lobo Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7. Junior Diana Hawk enters the Lobo Invitational coming off a first-place finish at the Texas Tech/New Mexico State Dual, Aug. 30, and junior transfer Nathan Starr enters competition coming off a sixth-place finish for the men’s team.
The New Mexico State football team hosts Big Ten powerhouse Minnesota as the Golden Gophers become the first-ever team from the Big Ten to visit Aggie Memorial Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at Aggie Memorial Stadium, Saturday, Sept. 7. The game will be televised live on AggieVision, as Jay Sanderson (Play-by-Play) and Danny Knee (Analyst) bring you all the action from the television booth. The game will be on live locally on Comcast in New Mexico, CW (El Paso), My50 (Albuquerque) Fox College Sport Pacific, Fox Sports Arizona Plus and Altitude2. Big Ten To Go will also broadcast the game. You can listen to all the action with the 'Voice of the Aggies' Jack Nixon and color analyst Preston Williams beginning at 5 p.m. on KGRT 104 FM. Also catch the action in Spanish with Bob Sherman and Sal Betancourt on Vista 98.7 FM.
The NM State men’s golf team opens the 2013-14 season on Sunday, Sept. 8 and Monday, Sept. 9 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo. Last season, the Aggies finished tied for tenth overall at 23-over par. Kenneth Fadke led the Aggies for the tournament, finishing tied for 31st at 5-over par, 221, carding a final round score of 7-over par, 79.
The New Mexico State soccer team hosts two matches in Las Cruces this week at the NM State soccer complex. The Aggies take on Stephen F. Austin, Friday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m., and UC Riverside, Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
The Aggie volleyball team heads to Honolulu for the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic, Thursday, Sept. 5 to Saturday, Sept. 7. NM State faces Hawai’i, Thursday, Sept. 5 at 11:30 p.m. (MT) before taking on UCLA on Friday, Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. (MT). Both those teams are nationally ranked this week. The Aggies wrap up their week against Santa Clara, Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. (MT).
